Office Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Answering all incoming telephone calls: effectively determine caller’s needs, transfer them to the appropriate extension, and take accurate messages as necessary
  • Scheduling appointments for Arborist client visits
  • Ensuring that adequate telephone coverage is maintained
  • Support the office manager in ordering supplies and serving as an occasional backup
  • Learn and utilize technology (phone systems, email programs, word processing programs, and software) to increase efficiency, communication, and performance of duties
  • Perform general clerical tasks such as accepting deliveries, directing email queries, completing forms, ordering supplies, and other duties as necessary

Qualifications

  • Must be able to multi-task and answer a high volume of calls in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Must be dependable, energetic, and courteous with a positive attitude
  • The candidate must possess a clear and professional speaking voice, excellent customer service, and communication skills
  • Minimum one-year experience on a heavy traffic telephone system
  • Good computer skills – knowledge of Outlook, data entry, and the internet
